This FUCKS. This has the SAUCE, man. The music really elevates this whole experience to another level and the art style's sufficiently moody and striking for the kind of story it's telling. A lot of the self-loathing and fraught relationships with others particularly struck a chord with me, especially seeing the flame of Everett's love for Curtis slowly snuffing out in a deeply painful way.
My one hang-up is that I think the 'twist' at the end didn't quite land for me. I get what it's trying to go for, equating addiction and the inability to let go of the past, but it did take me out of the otherwise grounded setting 'slightly'. (Even though it is foreshadowed from the very main menu which is an any% world record for foreshadowing in FVNs congratulations) Also, the spirit of Curtis did kinda lay everything out a bit too plainly for my liking, but it lead to my favorite exchange in the whole thing with Everett admitting to himself the real Curtis never loved him, but that shouldn't stop him from seeking help from the people he loves which IDK MAN MAYBE KINDA HURT JUST A WEE BIT OK JUST A BIT YOU KNOW
anyways, 0/10 because it uses the default renpy icon do better next time
