Space Prevention Force is a charming management game where you build a technicolour company with the goal of saving the lives of aliens in space. You're pitted against another company, also trying to do the same; more friendly wager rather than corporate trade war.
Choose to save aliens on the planet, across the galaxy or the whole universe, you must balance growing your therapist workers with researching better skills and marketing to get depressed, blobby aliens to come to you. Meanwhile you fight off productivity leaching aliens with a swift click.
The game is slow to start, the counter in the bottom right gives you a sense that you're losing against your competition but play carefully and you'll realise that there is a tipping point over which you're earning faster than you can spend. It's a balance issue that once you understand, you can squarely and predictably beat the game on hard. That balance docks a star but I do feel mean for doing so.
I've played for 2 1/2 hours now and I've thoroughly enjoyed trying out different tactics (although I had to seek help on Tons of Hun Discord to start with). Part of my enjoyment has been in watching Garrett's entertaining dev logs since November 2019.
Space Prevention Force is worth your time; it is hard enough to punish you but not so hard that it will ruin your evening.
