I have to say at first I was really invested all the way up to version 0.8. Great lore building, great characters, building on an arc that felt authentic. But for a soft squishy like me 0.9 was the first sign the story wasn't going to end in a way I would have enjoyed, 1.0 confirmed it.

The only thing that the ending gave me was a reminder of a saying I heard from a tweet. "You cheated not only the game, but yourself. You took a shortcut and gained nothing. You experienced a hollow victory."

Take this rating with a grain of salt because I also feel like this story wasn't made for me.
