Quarion is a great, fun, and engaging platforming adventure even if a bit basic. For a dollar, its worth the risk of going in blind to experience a new, dark, someone alien environment to explore while collecting fruit and unlocking new abilities after good boss fights. There are no weapons, only jumps. Bosses slam themselves into the ground and you take advantage of that.

Its basic in terms of looks, sounds, and upgrades that come in a wall slide, an air jump, and an air dash. Yet it does everything so well. The look, the sound, the atmosphere and the gameplay. It all fits that style. Even the bit of screen effects and particles still fit that style and immersion.

It can be rough and challenging at times between tricky jumps using all your abilities to the bosses showering projectiles. Final boss fight is the ultimate challenge the game has to offer. The other challenge is the exploration. Getting room to room, finding secret walls to collect fruit used as currency by a lone shop keeper.

Took me about 90 minutes to complete with 15 minutes being on the final boss.
