Navigating the menu was a pain. The first non-content warning part of the game was a name, pronoun, and genital selector. After that generic(but appreciated) starting info was filled out the next menu appeared: the contract. The contract had a fingerprint above the line "succubus", and an empty space above "user", and no way to escape it and play the game. The solution was fairly simple: I had to click above the non-fingerprinted "user" section, and in a clever way I would have both understood what content would appear in the game while also already starting the roleplay. While I was foolish looking back, such an action was not inherently apparent to me due to the previous menu having obviously clickable multiple choice boxes and my filled out name. Meanwhile, the name I had just filled out was not used in the contract(despite the contract being entirely made of downloadable font), and more confusingly the cursor was a computer-default arrow cursor that had no personality or association with the game. Once past that menu and already seeing a few oddities with the game, I moved on to creating a play session, where I was given more multiple choice boxes that I tried clicking on... and for some reason I couldn't. I re-read the menu "Regular Session" in it's entirety and there was no reason to believe the options shouldn't be selectable. In every way it seemed like a fairly hard to miss oversight. In the next menu selecting more specific kinks there were more boxes, this time clickable, that were further customizable with sliders which dictated how often a kink would appear. The sliders didn't work. The next menu had a start game button and a customize more button. I was done with the menus not working so I selected the start game option(although I later went back and the customize more option had boxes that unsurprisingly didn't work). Finally starting the game with a few problems I encountered collected like gym badges, I started the real game loaded in and saw a gothic girl inside a candlelit nighttime observatory, which altogether gave off a really nice gothic vibe. From here I encountered nothing that seemed to be an obvious bug, although I did see small annoyances such as constantly repeated dialogue options for disobedience and extremely long load times between an option being selected and the succubus performing an action. One example was the wheel minigame, where she would spin a lotter wheel, I acknowledged the result with "done", then 15 seconds late she performed a smiling emote, then about 10 seconds later she teleported to... the exact same room but in a default pose with a upwards angled camera, then 10 seconds after that she took a new pose, only to say that the session was over. Overall, the gameplay of Virtual Succubus was not fun in the slightest, and that wasn't just me trying to figure out the menu. I don't know if this project lacks coders... but I hope the background used in this game can be put to a more fortunate use than what I saw it used for. Maybe the background artist can get a job at Fromsoft to design boss rooms idk... Anyways I would not recommend this game in it's current state.
