Pajoonk rated Lorn's Lure

Pajoonk rated a game 283 days ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Excellent game for every one with BLAME! size hole in their heart.

I don't know what Rubeki sacrificed and to what cosmic deity but somehow he made first person platformer that actually works, and only sometimes is infuriating. And those times it's probably your fault, not his :-)
There are some timed parts in some levels, not my favourite. Luckily developer added Explore mode replacing those hectic fragments with more, chill exploration.

World portrayed in the game is varying and fascinating. I only wish there were some more clues or more obvious way to find scan points elaborating on its history and lore. As it is there is only subtle change in reticule, and many times you have to look spot on on some small item.
Thanks to sound cues I found almost every crystal. Sadly I'm more interested in lore, and there is nothing pointing you towards it.
I haven't even found any playthrough or walkthrough with 100% scans.
Oh, and I explored a lot of each level, not only followed hints. So I feel it's not entirely my fault I couldn't find those. Sometimes I even found someone or something at the dead end of some branch, and surprisingly there was no option to scan. I felt somewhat cheated those times.
Wow, that's lot of critique of simple scan mechanic :-) But exploration and lore is the most important thing for me in those games. I'm just disappointed that I did so much of the former with so little progress in the latter.

Anyway, great game. Buy it. Play it.

Thing I wish I knew from the start:

Chapters are looong, and there is no apparent save mechanic, but If you quit to menu you will have option to continue from where you ended.

Holding Retry key for 3 seconds truly brings you to very beginning of the level... Learned that the hard way ;-)
