Update for Chapter 9:
Because of the sudden and unexpected switch from Daz/Blender renders to inconsistant AI art, I am revising my five star review down to three stars. It is still an epic game with a lot going for it, but with the intense grind combined with lowered quality, it goes from being a spectacular game to a decent effort.

I should start this off by saying that I have never been moved to become a Patreon supporter of a game until I played the introduction to Ergi and fell in love.
This game has shown amazing promise right out of the gate. It is visually stunning, well-written, the world building is absolutely top notch so far and I honestly was already picking out characters that I especially like.
The post-apocalyptic world of Ergi showed a beautiful bittersweet balance between that sense of wonder we all crave and the crushing conditions that would likely exist in such a world. It is a beautiful world, but living in it ain't pretty.
The characters are likable, sexy and interesting when they are supposed to be and provoke pathos when appropriate. The game devs went out of their way to show us little parts of the world in visual storytelling and exposition that show just how brutal the conditions are, without making the story seem too grimdark or hopeless. It's a fine balance and one that not many games pull off well.
I was entertained, I was impressed, I was intrigued and I immediately wanted to support the creators of this world and these characters. Very well done, devs. This is one hell of great start.
