This game is, both technically and gameplay-wise, a very impressive mix of the classics "Golden Axe" and "Barbarian." The controls work smoothly, and the difficulty is challenging but fair. The mini-games between levels are also very fun and offer extra lives upon successful completion. Added to this are the varied background graphics with smooth parallax scrolling and enemies that are almost reminiscent of the Psygnosis standard, especially the "Shadow of the Beast" series. It's a shame, however, that there's neither a 2-player mode nor a save option, which somewhat dampens the fun. Nevertheless, this game is certainly one of the best beat 'em ups of the year.  - (4,5/5 Stars)!
