Vimi's Romancing Flesh is my huge inspiration and has opened my eyes: a visual novel can be something more than static character sprites with a couple of facial expressons against backdrops. Very cinematic and non-trivial approach to the genre. Live2D animations add to the game's fantastic eerie vibe.
