DREAMSEED rated MAPPING the CATACOMBS - PAMPHLET

DREAMSEED rated a game 6 years ago
A downloadable game.

Had an absolute delight of a crawl, and inspiring many a good story of doomed venture! Warmly recommended for solo play, I'll be running this again for sure.

My run:
An acolyte and three socialites descended into the musty darkness to scour the catacombs after hearing word of frequent sightings of berobed ne'er-do-wells milling about the once-hallowed grounds. And they did meet many; so many in fact that I had to come up with some house rules.
In the event of a cultist encounter, there was no clear mechanic for handling a "search" for their entry-point. Instead, I rolled for exits, and if there was more than one, I'd label one of them the escape.
Second, because this room was frequented, I thought it would make sense if the cultists had made a sconse for illumination. This would light the room for the remaining playthrough.
Third, to extend playtime, I would allow my party to exit and flip a coin to see whether the area was populated or wild. In the wilderness, they could forage for wild green. In the other event, they beseeched a local groundskeeper for some oil. Two encounters with aggressive soldiers further added to the torch inventory.

Despite this, their minds were run into the ground because I'd forgotten to apply the soothing effects of the Acolyte's thurible to my characters worries, only purifying the rooms! One of the frail socialites consumed what remained of the holy herbs and tore off into the darkness, while the other two turned to ghoulishness, and ripped their would-be saviour into finger-food.

All in a night! Thanks for this game.
