This was a beautiful novel. It's depiction of "esoteric lesbian" love was so deeply visceral. It in a way verbalized some of the feelings I've felt that I haven't seen anything else do. To write something of this nature, something that is regarding the experience of being an intensely weird fucked up transgender lesbian, is a difficult act to avoid almost parodying yourself or being too "online" - writing that may literally attempt to capture an experience but fail to convey the raw feeling of it. SWSBTS's well-handled poetic prose contributed greatly to it's success. It reminded me of the ways I would write about my love for someone in my life. It was hardly ever intentional but the weight and depth of the feelings could simply only be expressed in such a manner. I feel remnants of that same feeling from this novel. SWSBTS's sexual scenes especially deserve praise. They're the most inseparable sexual scenes from it's own work that I've seen. It's critically important to understand and feel One and Anhedonia and the work at large. It may be easier for me to cry than ever these days, but I find meaning in that I cried towards the end.
