A very sweet yuri visual novel! Aspen's timidity and her growing frustration at being taken advantage of while also being entranced by a girl who does have the force of personality to push forward with her made me wistful about my ex. The notes section mentioned Jacqueline Wilson's Midnight as being a point of inspiration, and while I haven't read that books since I was a kid, I feel like I can see that influence especially when it comes to the emotional nuances of the relationships the characters have with each other, even the unpleasant stuff. I love the atmosphere that feels like a ghost story even when ultimately there is nothing supernatural.
Some minor quips about the UI: I did not realize the cobwebs was the UI that would allow me to access the history/autoread section. I thought it was an asset that was not layered/removed properly until I accidentally moved the mouse over it. I get wanting to have things be atmospheric, but this menu was so hidden, and when I turned on auto mode, the auto mode symbol was so big and intrusive that I ended up turning it off bc it felt more immersion breaking. I feel like it might have also been better if the speaker portrait in the text box stuck around longer instead of vanishing as soon as thoughts start to occur, especially for sequences when spoken lines and thoughts are very much intermingled, but that may be more of a personal preference from me.
