A game about other games - I love the setup for this piece, and I'm already working on a hack of it. A great open-ended game about rulers, succession, and allyship. The mechanics are straightforward and easily understood. It might be a little difficult for newbie players to get the hang of, but if you've done a few games and want roleplay over winning/success, The King is Dead is a great game to play, especially if you want to have a 'prequel' game or a worldbuilding base. 

One of the best things about this game is how collaborative and supportive it is. You ask permission, leading questions, and even describe events around others. You are as much a part of the game as everyone else. This is shown right from the beginning when you create your characters by asking the other players to describe them. 

Honestly a great game that allows for lots of interpretation and movement.
