Seeing it on itch now is fun.

Buy Rain World if you like 2D world exploration and can tolerate games that have you dying over and over in trial and error. Trust me, I've seen many people drop the game because they can't.

Buy it on Steam if you want to buy the base game without any of the DLC, if you want it to be cheaper.

As much as it may seem that you're wandering aimlessly, there is a story. Just have patience and explore as much as possible, and if you see a path you've never seen before, I suggest taking it. There's three save files and a save reset in the options, so you can restart if you think you've gotten stuck and can't proceed(One save for all slugcats, so only do so if you're on Survivor difficulty I guess lol), I've done it plenty of times. Just find another path next time, and maybe it'll be easier... Unless you're just getting hit with a skill issue, which more or less is what this game boils down to most of the time.
