Mark1929 rated FEARMONGER

A browser game made in HTML5.

Aplove's pixel monster aesthetic is neat.

The setting isn't very inspiring (slow paced, unskippable text, slow walk speed), as it's hard to find itch creators who don't portray 'that man' as the root of modern evil.

The gameplay was tough to figure out at first. All the prompt says is 'use wasd' to dodge. It doesn't tell you that the foe telegraphs their attacks, they highlight a white arrow on the black background before attacking with a claw swing or a rifle shot, and you're supposed to choose any direction to dodge other than the direction the white arrow was pointing to, and you can only use one of each direction per round. This is not explained or conveyed in any significant way by the combat intro, which is poor game design. The attack telegraphing is a bit tight as well.

Also, it's interesting that this game doesn't have an 18+ mode. It's one of Aplove's unique trademarks, and the wolf monster's design would be stellar for that sort of thing.
