I am a simple woman. When Christine Love and Love Conquers All Games hit Publish, I hit download. When they publish paid DLC, I purchase it. These are complicated times that we live in - it is nice to have such simple rules to live by.
This game is a love letter to girls like me, and I don't just mean trans girls - I mean girls that are always on the lookout for new concepts and ideas and fresh takes on popular themes and just... it's shocking to me how well this delivered on its rather simple, upfront promises. And for free/PWYW? God damn it, Christine. God... damn it. As a day-one downloader, I was able to grab the base game for free.
So the DLC was an instant pickup for me, and looking at the game as it is now, I would actually go ahead and recommend saving it until you have (almost) completed ACT IV. I didn't, because the thought of a second set of outfits excited me. It becomes available just a little bit into Act II - don't worry, you're not missing a button somewhere, just follow the large woman once she's found her way to it. I don't think there's a way to go back to the area once you've completed the content, but I think the things that are unlocked are seeded into the main area, so there isn't (mechanical) cause to.
Two more DLCs appear to be planned, comprising a "Season 1" of DLC. Those will be instant pickups too. My wishlist is definitely more outfits and more story... but truthfully, once I wrapped my mind around the combat system, I managed the challenges quite well. A little more oomph there might be interesting.
As I predicted in my original rating, the Fate of Another World DLC was an instant pickup and even I'm a little shocked at how voraciously I consumed it. It was an incredible experience - as was the full replay that it necessitated in my heart.
I'm not sure what might've happened to that last DLC, or what the future might hold for Sam and friends, but I'm on board for it. Obviously.
