Long long review c:
No spoilers, just me ranting about my new interest
It is among the best novels I have ever played, both for the plot, innovative and creative, and for the gameplay (a chatroom mode gameplay, which is not the first and, hopefully, not the last novel that uses this type of setting, but still manages to stand out and make it realistic) and character customization. There are few novels that allow you to customize yout character (I am still pleasantly surprised when I notice the possibility of choosing your own pronouns in the novels) but Killer Chat allows for an all-round customization that does not stop only at your character but also at the in-game chatroom profile, including profile photo, bio, roles, user tag... It allows you to immerse yourself in the story and create, if you want, your own OC by delving into the information in the parts of the story where it allows you to write freely without this having repercussion on the plot.
The game manages to make you fond of the characters so much that I didn't want to uninstall the game after finishing it beacause it was like leaving a real chatroom of friends.
Nice writing of the characters and construction of their personality, maybe I would have liked just a little more depth, I feel that some characters had much more to offer. Angel, even if she wasn't one of my favorite characters, was the one, in my opinion, with the most interesting story, while Maki is the one who I think exposed themselves the most and who made us enter more into their private life and behind the motivations of why they do what they do.
I like that the bad endings were brutal but I can't go into much more detail about them because I didn't get them all, partly because I didn't want to, partly because I didn't know how to, the only ending I can remember is Ronin's which I would have liked to have been a little longer, it seemed a little short and sudden to me. I don't know how I would have continued it or what I would have added to it, I just knew that I wanted to read more so this is entirely personal.
One aspect that I like to highlight in the novels is the presence of the voice over which for me raises the score a lot because I know that it is optional, I had the pleasure of playing many wonderful novels without the voice over but it is still an immense joy to see this type of commitment in a project. (loved loved loved the voice of Felicite).
In conclusion, if it wasn't clear, I loved Killer Chat from start to finish. Writing, voices, art, everything. The team deserves all the support and I hope they release more games/novels!
