I will never understand how someone can be writing for so long and still show no improvement and write like a teenager, with all the usual mistakes teenagers make in their writing.

The plot is contrived and dumb, it only proceeds because the characters keep making stupid mistakes and because of all the SUDDENLY moments that were never properly set up.

This was literary waterboarding for me.
