auto (steady) play is a great feature. it might be nice to have a "machine random speed" or one sort  or another (e.g. could jump from (random) tempo to (random) tempo after (random) seconds; but it would probably take some (artistic) tweaking to get the "machine random speed" to work in a manner that regularly produces interesting audio output.
