Extremely fun romp that consumed one and a half afternoons of my times and was worth every second. I first played it while it was snowing outside, which really just made it all the better.
The music is atmospheric, the limited palette is pleasing and used for great striking effects at several points, the art style is simple and charming and knows when to pack in extra detail for a punch.
This game's dialogue is Incredibly Tumblr, but it feels natural enough for the characters to speak like they do, and I, as a tumblr user, find it incredibly funny. And i never thought I would consider the thematic implications of a character being revealed as a Mario 64 speedrunner, but there are a great many implications to it.
I couldn't even begin to talk about the story without waxing poetic. The themes are fantastic, I love the overarching theme of taking your time in life and going for what you want instead of what ought to be, the subtle clashing of queerness against heteronormative pressure. The romance at the center of it all is fast-moving but fun and compelling. Oliver and Angel are a fantastic central duo and the orbiting cast are all also charming in their own right.
Great subversions of a great many tropes (I love you autistic detective who is compassionate and romantic and socially awkward and trying his best, he's just like me for real), and also the horrors, and also the beauty underneath it all, and how the horrors were made out of love.
In conclusion. The game is good and I like it.
