I liked it. Scary, but the controls can feel annoying. Unresponsive and strict. If I wasn't fuckin' that countertop, I couldn't grab the cookies. I tried grabbing what I thought was the milk out of the fridge several times, door closed on me, nothing. Figured I had mistaken half-and-half for a half-gallon, do it all the time. I was wondering if we kept a secret stash of milk in the bathroom before trying again and, somehow, finally picking it up. So it WAS milk. Next hurdle was trying to place shit on the plate.
Poured milk, humped the counter for cookies, watched T.V., Santa's comin' to town. I had wasted a good moment spamming E to hide when I see the objective has discreetly changed. I try to be quick, but the countertop wants my body. Cursory glances and quick pecks didn't pay out, so I died. Fuck. I get it the next time. Get a nice little ending.
A lot of time was spent in my playthrough trying to click shit. Also, given hiding was mostly useless, I don't think it should have had its own button. It's a classic trope, I know, but when hiding did not work, I was confused. Didn't know how your gaame worked yet, so I didn't know I'd only need to hide for scripted events, so I wasted time looking for another place to hide. I realized how it worked once I saw that the table was the ONLY place to hide.
Hey! Wow, all of my concerns were addressed in that update. All of them specifically... hi. I played through another couple of times, and yeah, it's a much smoother experience.
It makes me feel a little bit special to think that you read MY review and acted on that. I will ignore the million comments and other possible ratings. This is what happened in my head.
Cool stuff.
