Clark rated My Name is Addiction

Clark rated a game 1 year ago
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Not really my cup of tea tbh. Just to be fair I did finish the game. But I did not enjoy the game. For some, this game no doubt has some genius to it. But for me it was mostly poetry paired with bizarre imagery. A couple of dialog choices. Apparently the author has moved onto writing instead so I guess alls well that ends well, as the writing was probably the strong point of this... experience. The game has an intriguing premise and perhaps I just made the wrong decisions as I didnt quite find the ending much good. However, the game never tries to be more than it is. It predents itself humbly and from the itch site is free of charge. I stand by the artistic merits of this game as some form of experiment by the author, but for the average consumer, doesnt hold much. But for fans of psychosexual romps through the mind, I do think they should give this one a try. Maybe later Ill boot the game up again, and try for a different ending, and see if that improves my impression of it. As well, the numerous typos and spelling mistakes are hard not o notice. Its as if the author typed this game out with one hand on the keyboard and the other hand firmly gripping his meat lol. Maybe I would enjoy the game more if my name was David Lynch. But for me it was hard to tell what was even going on half the time. Characters are not given faces, making it hard for me to tell them apart in the script. And the main character isnt even truly given a name at all.

I dont mean to be overly critical of this game. Its interesting. But Idk. I was hoping for more than what was given. Sometimes a lack of gameplay can be excused by a riveting story ala Muvluv for example. This game did not excite me in either way. That being said, I wish the author best of luck in his future endeavors. I hope I was not overly harsh in my critique here. One has difficulty saying he did not like it politely.
