The simplicity and strengths of One Page Left builds so imaginatively on the slasher genre, and leaves a result of frenetic haunts. My first session so naturally and organically became a story of a football star being lured and sacrificed to a god of rot. Each move became more desperate until, like a slasher movie, the illusion of calm was broken and my character was defeated brutally. Though I had a total runtime of maybe 45 minutes to get all the rules square, this game can be a sprint into twenty minute territory if you know what you're doing and need to up the stakes. Genuinely inspired design.
