Fritzo :D rated Komorebi

A downloadable game.

As far as dystopian stories go, this one is by far the most interesting I've seen, truly ingenious. The premise does not need a backstory for Delta, just some facts that help set the scene, which is useful, since flashbacks can be a bit of a drag and a cliche. The whole system for identities and government is truly a superb idea.

However, the fault in this game lies with the characters.
Isaac is perhaps the only one who is the most realistic out of all of them, though they all seem a bit shallow. There could have been a lot of potential for the characters, but the story took the reins, and so did the romance element, not letting us explore these characters more. Klace's character, for example, had a lot of potential, but it was diminished by the exposition of his fame in many parts of the story.

The romance element is a bit, surreal, to say the least.
The only romance that made sense is Isaac's, where you two have been friends for a long time. But the way we form connections with people like Klace and Dante feels somewhat unrealistic and forced. Though I did enjoy building connections with all of them, I noticed how it was too fast and ambiguous. Still, it was relatively enjoyable and entertaining.

Overall, a fun visual novel that is worth your time to experience with wonderous storytelling, but the shallow characters and weak romance mechanics prove a bit of an obstacle.
