I love the original Zelda, and Pelusa Saga: Kaji's Trials touches on a lot of that nostalgia in the best ways possible. Then it manages to fit 255 different variations of the 2 map world (128 dungeon rooms per world). Each procedurally generated world has an upper world and lower world, items, weapons, gates, keys, locked doors, shops, and 3 of the 15 different boss variations. Defeat the bosses to complete that world variation.
You can choose to play on Easy (pup) or Hard (fox) game modes. Pup mode is great for learning to play or trying to play through all of the world variations. Finishing a single world variation in Fox mode without dying is a monumental challenge.
In the start menu you can choose "Auto", which cycles through worlds when you die, or "Manual", which allows you input the hex values 00-ff (0-255) to define the seed. This seed value is conveniently displayed in the game menu during gameplay for easy reference, regardless of your auto/manual choice.
I definitely recommended this game to anyone, since I keep coming back to it. It's well worth the price and the ROM works on my Miyoo Mini+ or any emulator that supports mapper 30!
Or you could even purchase an NES cart! 👀
