Jelly_Fish_Field rated Andromeda Six

A downloadable visual novel for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Not my cup of tea, but it's clear that the creators put a lot of hard work into this project and had a clear vision.

The character designs are unique, and everything from their outfits to their posture tells a clear story.

The concept and the setting have a lot of potential, and it's exciting to be able to delve into character backstories by visiting and interacting with the places and people associated with them.

The writing is expressive, with enough mystery to leave you eager for the next chapter. The pacing is also very good, although it does feel like a lot happens before we get any real motivation or tie in with the MC's story.

Unfortunately, half of the cast come off as unlikeable almost immediately, and not in a way that was adequately justified in my eyes. I chalk a lot of this up to inconsistent tone.

The MC is really going through it and is in a very vulnerable position . They're entirely dependent on their rescuers and have no abilities or skills of their own.

The MC's personality and the choices available were so far removed from what I would concieve of being acceptable, that it repeatedly made me cringe or pulled me out of the experience. Why would I, having just suffered the abject loss of my entire identity, and family, laugh and blush when asking if someone's single?

My preferences also lean more towards a character that fulfills the role of a protagonist, someone that can affect change and overcome challenges independently to a degree, so experiencing this story through the perspective of what basically amounts to sentient cargo was not something I enjoyed.
