A browser The Hell Machine made in HTML5.
Interesting concept, but there are some problems:
- The controls are confusing. If the players are new, they don't know that they'll have to click the pump in order to grab it.
- I expected it to be like the Space key/button to grab the pump instead of clicking (Or just automatically grabs the pump, since you can't do anything except grabbing it).
- Sabotage chance. I don't like it, at all. There are no two lives in a row after the previous live (Which makes it very predictable), and there's a random chance that the sabotage chance will pop up, forcing you to sabotage it instead of just deciding to shoot yourself with a live.
- Hell, there are moments where the sabotage chance will pop up more than 2 times in a row, ESPECIALLY if passing to the empty seat where the previous player exploded that increases the sabotage chance.
- I was hoping you can sabotage it anytime, and if you guessed wrong, you'll shoot yourself with the live instead. Done it correctly, and you'll safely shoot yourself with a blank.
- There is no way to know how many bullets are in the chamber like traditional Russian Roulette does. This feels like a guessing game based on pseudo RNG based chances without knowing how many bullets are in the chamber.
- It's pseudo because the first bullet of the chamber is always a blank (Not counting the other mode where it's always randomized).
- Since sabotaging the current bullet chamber is legal, I was hoping that there are other ways to sabotage, like passing the pump to the next person that contains a live (They'll only do it once per 2 turns).
- Lack of variety on characters. No females? :megamind_sad:
Overall
Fun and simple premise but lacking due to its oversimplification of mechanics. It can be fun for a few matches... That is, if you get lucky to win. If you happen to pop early, you'll just have to sit to the entirety of the game waiting until the last person pops (Hence why I always go on Quick Draw mode)
