I reviewed this in my Indie Game Spotlight series.
I've played tons of roguelikes, but none quite like this. While the turn-based roguelike mashup is brand new to me, I feel the definite old-school inspirations from turn-based games of the past.
Graphically, the pixeled style is done well. Screen shakes and color-coordinated levels are great touches.
Soundwise, the background music is very well done. The sound effects are good as well. Nothing more to elaborate on, damn good.
The controls are complicated at first, but I can let it slide since there's so much to keep track of. I will say the RTS-style movement controls have a hell of a learning curve on them. In fact, I found I couldn't aim properly from turn to turn. It's not out of poor programming, it's merely the aforementioned learning curve.
Overall, this is a game that grows on you. It's hard to learn, but once you do it's an amazing game. Very well done!
