If you believe colonization is about how "both sides" of the natives and the colonizers need to let go of their hate for each other, then I'm afraid you're the one whose eyes are too clouded by your hate for indigenous peoples. Just because you didn't know or think indigenous peoples are people or recognize their cultures as culture doesn't justify or absolve you of killing their people and stealing their homes through violence.
