Reinmu rated Death Moon

Reinmu rated a Visual novel 1 year ago
A browser Visual novel made in HTML5.

I originally found this game while looking under the adult category and was immediately drawn in by the unique story and beautiful art style. After playing the demo multiple times, I eventually bought the full version, to learn more about the game and story. It's been mostly disappointing, despite the potential it has.

The gameplay does repeat since it's a loop, but there isn't much transition between loops besides a choice that decides which route you're on. Other choices don't seem to matter, especially the roles. No matter what you choose for who to save, who you think is the killer, it never matters too much.

Some routes are lacking and leave more to be desired, as there's still a mystery there and behind some of the characters - especially some that aren't in the first loops, but show up later. Gwenith is never explained, neither is the character you see when you die, despite seeming like somebody important - as she's mentioned by name a few times, but it's never brought up that you see her when you die.

I doubt it'd be something to miss either, as the loops transition immediately by simple choices and options. Especially Astrids leaves more to be wanted, and is generally confusing to understand or grasp.

Maybe I'm missing something, considering I have the full version, but I do believe this game has potential.

Side note: no LGBT options for Clyde. Sad face.
