Short and quite fun, with some exquisite design choices that really elevate this jam from a cool concept into a whole (and replayable!) experience. Found myself swinging between devastation from seeing my little OGs die, to deep disappointment when the latest newbie pulls a heroic moment in Hell itself.
It's my first experience with an auto battler-type system, where your (surprisingly diverse and varied) heroes do the actual diving on their own, leaving you on the other side absolutely helpless to their whims. Combined with the aesthetic sim elements in the village between runs, with heroes milling about and whatnot, it makes the lack of gameplay into an element on its own (which also ties into the game in other ways). Just really cool stuff.
On the whole? It's pretty, pretty good. If you've an hour or so to kill, go on and check it out!
