the art of this game is really beautiful! i especially love the UI elements being the same painterly style- you really nailed the art style, and the character designs are really expressive.
unfortunately, we couldn't really get behind the tone of the game and how certain topics are touched on- it kept seeming like a horror bait and switch, which is something we usually do really like, but it uses mentions of disability and trauma that feel uncomfortable even in a children's book inspired format. as someone who is unable to do anything at all on bad disability days, it's hard seeing the "well i can still do many things!" being presented as a sort of, educational narrative? could just be the framing, but it was a little hard to read even in that light. i'm not really sure what was up with the grammy + neptune thing, especially since it flipflops between being read as a joke and being a potentially serious issue- and the game cuts off before it can really be shown to be one or the other.
with that said, that presentation is really going to stick with us! the music was just as comfy as the art style, and certain sceness like the way sacabambaspis' face is illuminated by angie's lure are really beautiful. while it didn't hit in a satisfying way for me, i will be thinking about the asset work for a good while.
