My regular D&D group just wrapped our one-shot of this. I MC'd (Master of Crawling) and as an improv-heavy GM, I loved the freedom it gave with enough structure and prompts to bring the Keep *alive* in a way I haven't seen done before. We played with Level 1 PCs from D&D 5e and using the provided Backgrounds as character prompts led us to a very atypical (and fun!) party set-up. There's plenty going on in each location to guide or focus a roleplay-heavy table through a night of beer-and-pretzels gaming.
My party got *very* lucky and earned themselves a Wish that landed them in the right spot at the right time, and got the Antidote at the end of the first day, just over halfway through our session. I would totally run this again, my players would totally play again, and if your table and GM's style steer toward light and loose, you absolutely need to buy this!
Combat: Very low. One actual combat, plenty of opportunities to use combat-like tactics and table procedures.
Roleplay: VERY high. Lots of little guys! Bring all of your wacky voices.
Exploration/Intrigue: High. Each bar, route, and day have many situations for characters to navigate or investigate, with many ways to achieve their goals.
Time Spent Playing: 5 - 6 hours, one session, in person
Game Tone: Beer & Pretzels, PG-13 to soft R rating
Content Warnings: Non-comprehensive: Alcohol consumption, intoxication (potentially severe, including blacking out), potential emetophobia, illness, potential death of a parent (not a PC's), incarceration, fantasy violence. Random tables can be easily adjusted, all have plenty enough options or can be rewritten to avoid sensitive topics for your table.
