Really, really awesome game.
Not only did I find myself falling in love with the story, but also the twins themselves. Oliver's childlike nature, Walter's protectiveness over his brother, and both of their blunt commentary made the experience always refreshing and interesting.
I'm always a fan of multiple fairy tales being woven into one, and this game does just that. it gave off an "Alice in Wonderland" vibe, along with elements from other stories mixed in.
The artstyle was very pleasant and charming. Simplistic, cute, and soft are words I'd use to describe it. The portraits were adorable and I loved seeing the characters' expressions.
Both "endings" were wonderful plot twists that took me off guard. I would've never imagined it would end that way. The game left me with a feeling of selfish satisfaction in the best way.
There were a few errors such as minor mistakes and confusing scenes that took me out of the immersion for a moment, but they didn't ruin the experience. The most common errors were incorrect character portraits when one of the twins were talking (e.g., Oliver's portrait showing while Walter was speaking and vice versa), two typos ("remeber"), one scene that had me asking "why?" (why did we need to chase the witch when the twins' goal was just to escape the forest?), and one scene where I had no idea what was going on (when the witch's room became distorted, the struggle between Walter and the witch was very confusing for me). Also, walking from screen to screen was quite confusing. Sometimes I couldn't pass to the next screen because I was too far up or down, if that makes sense. The "transitioning" tiles that moved you to the next area didn't cover the entire edge.
I'd have to say my favourite parts were when the twins' revealed their twisted nature, the part where I played as Walter from the past (I guessed the witch on the first try!), and hearing the twins' blunt remarks.
My least favourite parts were the wolf chase, and figuring out the controls (it took a while to remember that I wasn't using WASD. But during that confusion, I realized that "A" was the jump button. It only worked inside and near the twins' house though?).
I will definitely be checking out any other games you make. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
