I think you may have created a useful too to better scrutinize the mechanics of a game when making a new game. Like a copper still for game mechanics. If I am making something it can be a good exercise in figuring out what each mechanic of a game are doing. It’s also a good way to figure out what mechanics of a game you tend to hand-wave.
