Simple but effective, THE BEAST's single page has all you need to run a session (or maybe moooore) of spooky period piece monster hunting. It also feels like something that, with some changes to flavor, could be reskinned to another genre of monster hunting game if you tire of moody eastern European forests and reviled barons. Played it with some friends last night and had a blast.
