I'm sorry but... I can't suggest this game due to its deeply harmful and frankly reckless treatment of suicide.
CW: Discussion of suicide and spoilers
This game spends most of its time being a fairly harmless Twitch chat simulator, with a brief irl segment). You're a large streamer, helping your smaller streamer boyfriend, Zilas, get big behind the scenes, running a fan account and helping with his Twitter. He wants to get to a million followers in a week, with your direct guidance. Whether he gets there or not, a viewer takes a comment out of context that leads the stream astray.
If you tell Zilas to apologize to his fans, then the player gets a graphic CG of Zilas dead in his apartment, from an apparent suicide. There's no prior discussion of suicidality or mental health, there's no buildup in the game itself. Just pure shock value. The game ends immediately, giving the player no time to process what happened or heal/grieve.
And if the player, distraught at what happened, plays again and makes a different choice? They're treated to a ham-fisted murder scene and a fourth wall breaking demand of the developer to get 5,000 ratings or Zilas stays dead.
It's just...nasty. Suicide isn't some joke or gimmick to get likes. It's not cute or funny. It's a serious topic and something that a lot of people have dealt with in their lives.
I've never rated a game on here 1 star before. Hell, I've never rated a game lower than 5 before, because I usually do it to support the devs. But this game genuinely upset me. I'm disgusted. Disappointed. I genuinely liked Error143 and was shocked this was by the same person.
Please...if you are going to include suicide in your games, think real fucking hard about it. Think about how you are handling and what it means for you to depict it. And furthermore - make the effort to recruit sensitivity readers. There desperately, desperately needed to be someone involved in this project with an understanding of appropriate depictions of suicide and it's clear there wasn't. The Action Alliance has national recommendations for depicting suicide. I would recommend looking at it.
