n.b. i was given a review copy of this with the caveat that i take the time to write about it before the month was through, and i expected to have more time and ability to write about this than i have, but this is an incredibly moving work. the music alone is immense and transporting, and the compassion it brings to its narrative makes it well worth the purchase at full price. i loved it. it brought me to tears of joy. i'm glad i took the offer when it was given to me.
