It is nice to see some more story and some light RPG elements in a SHUMP. The RPG elements are more for customizing the ship (speed, defense, or power, to oversimplify) than "grinding."
I picked this up and then put it down for a while, because the third-last boss was a huge difficulty spike, and I would have liked a checkpoint in front of it. I returned to the game and pulled through, but found the same problem with the next boss. But I re-played earlier levels and reminded myself of some of the mechanics, and I did better.
The look and sound are awesome, too. Great stuff!
