The UnNaturalist was my introduction to Solo Journaling games. I purchased a bundle of a ton of stuff a year ago, and this one sounded the most interesting. I'd been looking for some kind of writing prompts to get me into a writing practice. I enjoy the emphasis on using a physical journal and making it part of the project.
There is also a simple map-making aspect, which opens up another creative outlet within the game. Your map can be a simple grid, or a detailed map of the jungle.
This game suggests leaving the completed journal somewhere to be discovered by a stranger. While I love that notion, the idea is a little too romantic in my experience. It's hard to imagine that it wouldn't simply be thrown away as litter. After working on something, the last thing I want is for it to end up in a trash can. I'd love to hear from anyone that has experience finding creative objects in the wild. I know that I'd be delighted if it happened to me.
Overall, great game. Would love to see more prompts.
