wkpgames rated Celeste 64: Fragments of the Mountain

wkpgames rated a Celeste 64 2 years ago
A downloadable Celeste 64 for Windows and Linux.

I didn't think celeste could work this well in 3D, It might not be the only interpretation that "Celeste in 3D" could have been, but It certainly translates the feeling of playing celeste really nicely, the "there's no way this is the intended way to do this" feeling in the later levels as well. One of the worst parts of the game is the length, its too short, haha, not a bad problem to have, but there are other kidna minor issues, like the last few berries being very hard to find, since you have so much to check (I would never have figured out that platforming puzzle if not for a comment on a post here). And the controls being a little.. scuffed, I can see why many of the comments here are about that, especially if they're playing on a keyboard. on controller I didn't have many issues, but the camera does tend to be a little unwieldy, inside the cartridges I feel like there should have been some places where the camera locked in, one in particular you needed to be in a certain angle to do the platforming and if you were a bit off you risked dying (happened many times, some of them my fault some of them the camera's fault).

Overall I really loved the art, the music, the feel, and it's really impressive that it was made in only a week (ish), there's definetly potential, can't wait for Celeste 128!
