Exceptional use of the medium to tell an impactful story that I think many people can find at least something resonant in. I haven't played a lot of Twine games but I think the use of the repeating and cycling hyperlinks was really clever, it kept me emotionally invested and put me in the headspace of the POV character in a way that felt uniquely suited to the medium. The illustrations and other visuals were also very moody and atmospheric, I especially liked the brother's shifting portrait and the use of a slightly more unconventional color for horror, the gold felt almost searing and had a great effect.
(P.S. Damn are Appalachians like. Ok? Joking, joking, my cousins live there I know y'all aren't.)
