speaking as a person with fibromyalgia (but admittedly not CFS -- though i am just as tired), this game is not realistic. your plants would not be dying if you watered them only once in a single weekend, nor do people feel gross if they don't shower literally every day. i understand the dev was looking to illustrate how hard daily tasks are, but this is incorrect. and it doesn't teach people livin the spoonie life where to mitigate risks and make acceptable bargains. it teaches no one that plants can die of overwatering or that you can stretch your energy farther if you bath once every three days. also might i add the american dermatological association recommends that showering every day is actually *bad* for your skin, and they *do* recommend you shower every three days already. this game doesn't really achieve what it wants to. if it wanted to just make people with no chronic illness aware of how little a person living the spoonie life can do in a day, ok, it does that, but at the expense of actual accuracy. that and the main character beats themself up way too much due to, for some reason, having really high expectations. even tho ppl with this and other illnesses do have unreasonable expectations and do get depressed the wording here is still uber stark, possibly for shock value. once again, not a good teaching tool for anyone who does have energy limitations. but hey, it's a 3min game, it looks good, works fine, and the dev had good intentions. it does show players that people with CFS are severely limited in what they are able to do in a day, so it does accomplish its job there.
