a very worthy successor to the original title, without making it feel obsolete. i love this game's spin on the classic shift formula with the almost 2048-esque scoring system and upgrade/downgrade mechanics — the return of the calm and the frantic from the original shift on iOS is a lovely touch, and the tactical completes a great triumvirate of modes that each feel like a fun spin on the base gameplay in their own unique way. i prefer it on catalog for the online scoreboards, but with or without 'em this puzzle game is definitely worth your time
