ChellayTiger rated Dawn Chorus soundtrack vol.1

ChellayTiger rated a soundtrack 2 years ago
A downloadable soundtrack.

As someone who's listened to plenty of albums, this is a case where the quality is high but it's not quite to my taste. I certainly enjoyed listening to the soundtrack but I also felt like I wanted to go to sleep by the time it was over. If I were to describe this soundtrack with words, it would be "ambient electronic music with elements of indie rock and shoegazing". It reminds me of Takashi Kokubu's work, not so much in the sound itself but rather in the vibes it gives off as being beautiful and relaxing. These songs fit very well with what Dawn Chorus is, a low-key slice-of-life narrative with comfy vibes. That said, I find most of the soundtrack to be boring and I don't see myself coming back to most of the songs. Ambient music just isn't something I listen to a lot of the time, I prefer something livelier. There are a few songs that I genuinely found to be profound, namely "waterfalls" with its midwest emo style influences and "the fall" that feels a lot eerier than the rest of the soundtrack. Still, this is a case of "it's not you, it's me" which is why I can't justify giving it anything below five stars even if it's not what I'm into. Give the first 5 or 10 minutes a listen and see if this is something that would be right up your alley.
