Dead Plate is a marvelous rpg maker game that builds up a full course meal of psychological horror against a backdrop of an amusing Diner Dash-like formula. The stress of customer management on later work days actually adds to the anxious anticipation of the narrative's conclusion. However the true standout is definitely the art direction and character work. Rody and Vince feel fleshed out and distinct in a way that gives them room to peel away the layers of each other's circumstances. For a relatively quick game I can see why it inspires a lot of fan content. It leaves the player craving more. Looking forward to whatever racheldrawsthis puts out next.
