deerstump rated Incoherence

deerstump rated a Incoherence 2 years ago
A downloadable Incoherence for Windows.

Pros: Nice looking graphics. Shadows and dim light create warm, yet uncanny atmosphere of the uneasy hotel surroundings. The cutscene with therapist is well shot, i liked the surrounding darkness and the presence of only a few important scenery things. The owl and the whole scene reminded me of Twin Peaks.  Overall i really liked the first part of the game.

Feedback: I wish there the player had an option to talk with people in the hall of the hotel. They might not be important to the story, but i think it would've made the game more immersive and believable. The excessive cursing of the main character was a bit unnecessary in my opinion. I think it was a bit cheap to use curse words to emphasize on the character's bad mental state. Yet i personally dont know how i would deal with that if it was presented in my case. I hope you can work it out on your own. Spooks were okay, i really liked the creepy figure standing in the dark hall, but jumpscares were a bit cheap, especially the first one. I think it might've been made a little more subtle, so the jumpscares at the end would be more impactful. The hospital scenes were really weak. Graphics look not as good looking as in the first part, but maybe it was intentional. I liked the part where our phone battery dies and there is nothing but a weak green light of the PC monitor. Also all the player does is walk and read. I know the segment was influenced by P.T, but i believe more could've been done about it. I got a little bit stuck on it because i didnt realize there were more notes. The ending was weird, but i have nothing much to say about it.
