Fallen Angels is a real standout, for the sandbox/rpg genre. The art is top notch, the characters are fun & interesting, and the overall story is coherent & gives great context to the adult element.

The lack of animated scenes might be a turn off to a potential player, but the gorgeous still graphics pages moving with the story are certainly enough to keep interest.

The sandbox style allows for a diversity of strategies & game play styles, although as with any game of the type, if you camp too long in an area gathering resources you'll loose the sense of immersion or urgency upon which the story relies. Not a criticism at all, just an observation.
