Ohhhh what a fun little demo!! Atmosphere was on point, artstyle was awesome, attacks were for the most part easy to read so it didn't feel too punishing. Above all else, attacks and sounds are viserally very satisfying, which I ultimately feel is one of the absolute requirements of a souls-like game.
I like the small cues taken from Hollow Knight as well. The charm system, the metroidvania elements. It all comes together really well. I also really like the magic system. I think the madness meter is a really good way to limit the use of magic without making the player too stressed out about preserving their magic. Really well thought out for sure!
Obviously there's the controller problems mentioned by others here and there. I found I really didn't use the gun at all because of it (though if I'm honest, I probably wouldn't have anyway). I also felt like it was very easy. I usually die a lot in souls-likes, but I didn't perish one time. It made areas feel a bit small, I think. Then again, this could all be because it's just a demo, so I didn't judge too harshly for it.
Really, really fantastic! Felt sooo fun to play. I loved just the simply act of attacking, which feels super nice. Definitely giving you a follow, and am going to watch this project closely. Very excited to see more!!
