The controls are poor, and this detracts greatly from the point that the game is trying to make. The binary on/off throttle is much more difficult to control than the throttle of a real car, and the absence of brakes only makes it worse. A player who causes problems with the traffic flow can very easily blame it on the limited ability to control the car, missing the point entirely.
